Intentional effort is worth the wait for the payoff
That is a picture of asparagus I harvested from my garden.
Do you know how long it takes for home grown asparagus to become edible?
It’s not a single growing season. It’s not two growing seasons. On average, from the time you plant asparagus until the time it is ready to be harvested for deliciousness is three years.
That requires a lot of patience. A lot of work to get the process started (trust me). A lot of waiting for the right time to arrive. And then success.
The great news is that asparagus is a perennial. If you can take the steps and last the three-year wait, it will reproduce for 25-30 years.
So What.
The point is don’t give up on your plan just because you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labor right away. Don’t give up because it takes years to achieve your full definition of success.
Take the first step. Then the next. Then the next. Until you get to the end and achieve the goal.
If you create a plan of intentional effort towards a meaningful definition of success it is worth the wait.
And if your goal is asparagus, boy does asparagus from your own garden taste a lot better than the stuff you get from the store. So it’s worth it.
